So Random August 28th – Review

This week I watched the episode of So Random that aired on August 28th.  The episode featured “Kicking Daisies” as its musical guest.

The first skit was pretty well done. Every school has a lost and found and sometimes it has really cool stuff in it that you wish you could claim as your own. I wish my school had a claim it day before it was thrown away! Crazy Carson’s Lost N Found did just that. It mimicked a last chance sale commercial and in a really great way. So overall I thought it was great.

I really didn’t enjoy the “Simple Country Boy” skits. I see why they are amusing but they weren’t something I thought was super funny. The skits involved a “simple country boy” giving advice in high-pressure situations such as hospitals and diffusing bombs. The advice was funny but the actual skit didn’t hit its mark, I felt.

I absolutely love the show; “Project Runway” and this week’s episode did a skit about it called, “Project Airport Runway”. While the sketch didn’t capture the actual point of the real show, it did parody the runway part. I thought it was pretty funny and they captured the hilarity of the situation well. Grading the models on how they landed when being flown over by a plane a great addition to make the sketch work. Overall I liked it.

I hate it when I see moms trying to dress like their daughters. I get that they want to be hip but overboard is overboard. That is why I like this skit. It brings the ridiculousness out in the situation. The skit was called, “Your Daughter’s Closet” and was about a clothing store of the same name where moms could shop for clothes like their daughters. I laughed at this a lot because I’ve seen it happen and those moms should not be wearing those clothes!

I have never heard the band “Kicking Daisies” before watching them as the musical act for this week’s episode of So Random. However, I actually really enjoyed them! I love that there is a girl drummer and guitar player and they aren’t just singers. I think they did a great job and the song was fantastic. They really have good stage presence and were able to interact with the audience and play off their excitement. They just did a really fabulous job.
