Ronald Dahl’s The BFG Is DreamWorks Next Project
Ronald Dahl, who wrote the great books like James and the Giant Peach and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will have yet another of his tales to be made into a film. His book called The BFG. DreamWorks has bough the rights to the movie, which will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. No word on when they will start production or if it will be live action or animated.
The book is about a girl who finds out children eating giants. However, she meets one single friendly giant who agrees to help her. The 2 make a plea to the Queen of England, who is the only person who can stop the other giants from eating kids. The trio of course work together to end the horrible practice. The book was made into a cartoon back in 89, which you can see a small clip of it at the bottom.
I am glad that this movie is being made. I do think that we need a whole new concept of movies to come forward. They have been starting to become stale and we need a new lease on life for kid’s movies. I am glad to see that we can look forward to a classic to make its very own big screen debut.
