Lady Gaga Takes Plea To President Obama

Sep - 28 2011 | Sarah Peel | no comments

Lady Gaga has always stood up for her fans and she understands that they have been dealing with bullies online and offline. That is something that has always bothered Gaga, so she is taking it to the highest level she can. She released the news on last Wednesday (September 21st) that she was going to meet President Obama to talk about the issue. Here is the exact tweet that she made to break the news.

I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey

It is for one of Gaga’s fans named Jamey, who took his own life after being harassed online. She has been a big defender for bully victims and wants a law in honor of Jamey’s death. She believes that online bullying is something that needs to stop since it has caused so many kids to take their own life. She joined the President for a fundraiser, where she thanked him and asked the attendees to start doing more about the issue now.

I am happy to see that she is trying to prevent more needless deaths, but I am not sure how much a law would work. Sadly, I don’t think that will solve anything or make the bullying issue go away. I hope that I am wrong, but I doubt it. How do you feel about her involvement?
