Avatar

James Cameron has big plans for “Avatar” Ride at Disney World. James Cameron signed a deal with Walt Disney to turn his movie, “Avatar” into a theme park attraction. The film broke a lot of box office records to become the highest-grossing film of all time when it was released in 2009. Cameron’s fictional planet, Pandora will be part of Florida’s Walt Disney World. It will be part of the theme park’s Animal Kingdom.

The construction of it begins in 2013. Reports allege the project will cost $400 million. Cameron says the attraction will tie in with two sequels he is now working on. He says,”With two new “Avatar” films currently in development, we’ll have even more locations, characters, and stories to explore.” Cameron adds, “(Disney bosses have the opportunity to) go beyond current boundaries of technical innovations and experimental storytelling, and give park-goers a chance to see, to hear, and to touch the world of “Avatar.”

I think the idea of new technical innovations and experimental stroytelling is intriguing to say the least. The cost of the project is very high at $400 million. I wonder how the two sequels to “Avatar” will tie in with an amusement park with thrill rides? It really be something if one not only can see, but hear and touch the world of “Avatar.”
