Club Penguin Introduces New Mobile App

Club Penguin enters the world of mobile apps on September 15th with Puffle Launch. Puffle Launch debuted as a game inside Club Penguin in March 2010 and became a big hit. It is now played by more than 150,000 kids every day in the virtual world.

Puffles are the penguins pets in Club Penguin and are a phenomenon in their own right. A new puffle is adopted every second in the virtual world and more than 20 million puffles have been adopted in 2011. Puffles are small, furry creatures with large personalities. The puffles need to be taken care of and make good pets. There are ten kinds of puffles. Each puffle has a different personality and color. Some puffles are intense, some are adventurous, some are creative, and some are very silly. Puffles can be adopted from the Pet Shop, located in the Plaza. Everyone can adopt up to two puffles of red or blue. Members can adopt up to twenty puffles in ten different colors.

I think the puffles sound a lot like the Neopets. The puffles need to be fed, exercised, and played with. You can buy toys and food for your puffles. The puffles will return to the wild if not properly cared for. When you logout of Club Penguin, the puffles don’t get tired or hungry. I think puffles are a good way to teach kids responsibility for another creature.
