Angry Birds’ Creator Rovio Sells 2 Million Novelty Products
The brand of Angry Birds by game developer Rovio sells one million T-shirts and one million plush toys every month.
Angry Birds is available for everything from IOS to thr PS3. It just recently made 350 million cumulative downloads. In December 2010, Rovio came out with a series of Angry Birds plush toys. By March of this year , two million plush toys have been sold. Their T-shirts sell a million every month. Rovio is one of the few companies that succeeded with IOS and then developed their intellectual property into a license. MG was told that Rovio may be making a game on Facebook in the future.
I think Angry Birds is a fun game. People like to play it often. Angry Birds started out as a game and turned into a pop culture icon. Who knows what will spin off from Angry Birds? Maybe there will be a series of different games with the Angry Birds. Maybe there will be a game or two just about the pigs. Maybe there will be a film made about the Angry Birds. There most likely is a bigger market for all kinds of Angry Birds items. It is a cute game with lots of fans. I think it will be around for a long time.

Hiring Andrew Stalbow is a big move on the part of Rovio. The man got the experience needed to market Angry Birds in North America. Although his success in Fox can’t be automatically translated into his new company. But maybe Rovio’s plan of making an Angry Birds movie will be easier with the presence of someone who got the background and experience as Stalbow.
