Zelda: Skyward Sword To Get Wii Bundle

Aug - 31 2011 | Sarah Peel | 3 comments

Nintendo is hoping for Zelda: Skyward Sword will save their console. They will have the game in what is called a gold controller bundle and it will come with the gold Wii Remote Plus Triforce themed controller, game and CD of the music from the game developer (which both versions will get). It will come out on November 20th and be a limited edition game. It will cost $70.00, twenty over the regular edition.

Nintendo has had a hard time in spiking their sales again. They hope that the hit Legend of Zelda series will save them and boost their sales for the much lagging console. Nintendo has been hurting since most of the world has already bought the Wii console. The new games have been slower at coming out, which has also helped to keep their sales down. After the 3DS flop, they are grasping at anything to boost their moral.

I doubt that this will give them a huge increase. While some will buy it, I do not think that they will boost it all that much. It just does not seem possible without a new console coming out. Do you think this limited edition bundle might save them?

You need to drop whatever chip you have on your shoulder for nintendo. Or at least do your research on things before you post them on the internet.

First, the 3ds hardly qualifies as a flop. Compare to nintendo’s only flop to date, the virtual boy. Price cuts didn’t even save that. Since the price cut, the 3ds has been the top seller in japan, and sales worldwide have increased. There’s a solid lineup of games on it’s way. Flop, no, didn’t meet the original expectations, yes. Things are turning around.

Second, there’s some historical data to keep in mind when it comes to wii and Zelda. When the wii launched, twilight princess sold on a near 1:1 ratio with the wii. This was when stores couldn’t keep the wii on the shelf. Truth is, there are a lot of wii’s out there, and a lot of wii owners waiting for a good game.

Then there’s the wonder that is amazon.com. The preorder skyward sword with wii remote plus is currently #2 of the top 100 video game sales on amazon. Obviously people are already buying it up. There’s also the bargain here. You talk as if the $20 extra for the bundle is some kind of rip off. However, the wii remote plus on amazon ranges between $27 and $37. So if you don’t already own a wii remote plus or a wii motion plus, this bundle is a great deal.

All this took 2 minutes of Internet searches. Now could you please stop posting il-informed opinions of nintendo and their products. It sickens me when people can’t do such simple research.

exactly! That’s why and my brother agreed on getting it. Why just buy the game when you can get other stuff with it for a little extra. That’s what happened with windwaker. We preordered it and got the rare master quest nintendo power and a strategy guide with the game. I just hope wii u games dont cost me a fortune. I’m already running low on cash with college.
