Universal Studio’s Starts Building Despicable Me Ride

Universal Studios Orlando has started construction on the Despicable Me ride. It will replace the old Jimmy Neutron ride. The ride is slated for a 2012 debut in time for the 2013 Despicable Me 2 movie. This ride is one of Universal’s attempts to revamp the park and to stay current. As for what time next year the ride will open, it is safe to assume sometime during the summer months will be their goal.

The movie was a huge hit, but I think that they should have built that ride a long time ago. Since Jimmy Neutron has been over for a long time, I would think that they have been looking for a replacement ride for a while now. It just seems to be so late for the ride, but I do suppose it will give them a needed boost of interest in the sequel.

Are you excited for the ride? I am not sure how big it will become until the sequel comes out. I do think that they have much bigger attractions at Universal, which makes this one sound like a weak option. They better build it so it will be a grand ride. To make a debut this late should be well worth the wait.

Let me start my comment on this by saying I was a HUGE fan of the Jimmy Neutron ride and I will miss it dearly. That being said, I was also a fan of the Hanna-Barbara ride before it was turned into Jimmy Neutron. So hey, maybe I’ll be satisfied again! Despicable Me was definitely a good enough movie to deserve it’s own ride. Another site to check out for tons of Orlando theme park updates is:
