Sonic CD To Be At Xbox 360 Booth For PAX

By on August 23, 2011

Gamers can rejoice at the news that a super rare Sonic game is getting a new lease on life! The Sonic CD will be at PAX this week. Microsoft has announced it as one of their games at their booth for this year‘s PAX show. The game was originally a PC edition of Sonic, but flopped back in 93. Since then fans have seen it only for resale as part of the Sonic Gems Collection for Game Cube, but that pack is also hard to come by. It is considered a rare find and hasn‘t seen much day of light, but now it appears that Microsoft has hopes for it. You can see a video example of the game at the bottom of this post.

No one is sure why the game originally flopped, but it seemed to have become a fan favorite among the cult following of Sonic. This new lease of life for the game is exciting news for both SEGA and Microsoft. They will also have a handful of other games at their PAX booth. However, the most exciting one certainly appears to be Sonic CD.

I never played Sonic CD, but since it is rare, it should be fun to see what it is like. I wonder if we can expect this to be a new trend for Microsoft, to bring back old titles? That could give them even more of an edge.
