Thundercats – HO! – Cartoon Network

ThunderCats is an upcoming American animated television series executive produced by Sam Register, Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic. It is based on the original characters created in 1985 by Tobin Wolf. It is produced by Warner Bros. Animation along with animation provided by Japanese animation studio Studio 4°C. The series is a reboot of the 1980s television cartoon series. It follows the adventures of a group of cat-like humanoid aliens on their home planet Third Earth, and Lion-O’s ascension to the Thunderian throne. The new television series will begin with an hour long premiere on Cartoon Network on July 29, 2011.
Plot: The faraway planet of Thundera is attacked by the lizard people. Which leads to Lion-O taking the ThunderCats on a quest for the Book of Omens, the one artifact that could bring them victory over their new enemies. But standing in his way are villains like the ancient evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra and the dangerous lizard general Slythe. Luckily, he has the Sword of Omens and its fantastic powers at his disposal.
As a child of the 1980s, I am very excited to see one of my favorite cartoons being re-imagined for a new generation (and for fan-boys like me). I will be reviewing this show here at BSCKids, so be sure to check back for reviews of the new episodes.
People have already begun to criticize the art from the upcoming show, yet they fail to remember the original show also had a very anime feel in its time. I like the new look and think a new story for these iconic characters is long overdue. Hey…at least they aren’t doing some trashy movie that will really mess up our childhood memories.
Be sure to check out the first epsiode ”The Sword of Omens” (1 Hour) on 07/29/11, and come back here for my review of the episode once it airs!

I am so excited about Thundercats returning! I am not sure if it will be as good as the original but i am excited nonetheless.
Some of the shows i grew up on should return so the next generations can enjoy them as well. Although all the characters in the shows would now have cellphones. Weird.
Times change…but at least our cartoons were cool enough to get redone right?
Watch the TCs’ Roar Tonight!
Looking forward to it!
Can’t Wait!
