The Hunger Games

To much of the surprise of this year’s Comic Con event, the cast of The Hunger Games declined to be there. Liongates who is behind the movie will not have a star panel at the event to showcase the upcoming film. This news comes in a matter of days before the big event kicks off.

Lionsgate says that the movie is still in production and none of the stars would have time to attend the event. This is a big blow to a movie that many say could become a hit like Harry Potter and Twilight. Many suspected the film would be presented their in attempts to build a buzz leading to its release next year.

I will admit that this came as a surprise. I think we all suspected that they would follow suit as many of the other sci-fi ones have. I wonder if this will hurt them or if enough fans will stay behind this project? I think they could have at least had a producer come out and talk a bit about the film, but they seem to be holding back on a lot of info at this point. Maybe they will be able to attend next year’s comic con, if the fans can hold out that long?
