Disney’s hit family comedy “Wizards of Waverly Place” is up for this year’s primetime Emmy for Best Children’s Programming. This isn’t the first time that Wizards was nominated for an Emmy, last year their movie was nominated for Outstanding Children’s Programming and they won.

Actress Maria Canals-Barrera tweeted this message to fans:

Just got a call from @RossiPR that Wizards is nominated for an Emmy!! Best Children’s Programming! What an honor!!!!

This is wonderful news for the entire cast and backstage crew of the show. Its great whenever artists get recognition for their hard work but its also great when they can use that recognition and turn it into shameless promotion. Wizards of Waverly Place is a fun sitcom that the whole family can enjoy. Its a cool show with a great cast and entertaining story lines. Its a feel good show that you can just sit back, watch, and relax. I really wish they made more shows that were as likable as this one. What do you think of their nomination? Do you think that they will win this at this year’s Emmy Awards too?

You can catch this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards August 18 2011 8:00 pm EST on Fox.
