Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 already breaking records

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has not officially even hit the theaters and it is already breaking records all over the place.  One of the first reasons I can think of is that this is going to be the end of the Harry Potter Era and I often wonder how this will hold up in the classics department.  Will it have that same grip as Star Wars in the long run?  Only time will tell, but we can say it is off to a great start number wise.

So far, Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has racked up an impressive 32 Million in advanced sales before it even opens this Friday, or midnight Thursday if you would like to be exact.    Warner Brothers is saying that is a pre-sale record, but we know the proof is in the opening numbers so we will see if that continues to set records.  I am going to go out on a pretty strong limb and say it will hit opening records as well.  The Harry Potter series is a beast but this final episode will be shown on more than 11,000 screens in over 4000 locations and even on 274 IMAX screens which Warner Bros is again saying is a record.

As expected the first shows are already sold out and some locations are even showing Parts 1 and 2 back to back.  From what I have heard, there should be a fair amount of people dressed up as their favorite characters for this historic movie event.  Now if we can just get a little more Harry Potter information on Pottermorewe should be good to go.  So go out and see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and let us know what you think.  I am waiting for it on Blu-Ray.
