Disney Starts On Oz The Great And Powerful

Disney is producing “OZ The Great and Powerful”. This movie is a prequel to L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz”. The production started filming on Monday, July 25, 2011. It will released through Disney Studios Motion Pictures on March 8, 2013.

When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician is blown off course from Kansas to the land of Oz, he thinks he has made the big time. Then he meets three witches who don’t think he is the great wizard everyone has been expecting. Finding out who is good and who is bad helps Oscar Diggs become the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. The movie has a stellar cast and is directed by Sam Raimi.

I think the concept of a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz” is an engaging idea. Who wouldn’t like to know about the” Wizard of Oz’s” beginnings. Maybe the movie will tell us the story of the Wicked Witches of the East and West. Maybe the movie will tell us all about Glinda, the Good Witch. There will be a flying monkey named Finley and other characters. It is a fascinating and intriguing idea to learn the background of “The Wizard of Oz”.
