Selena Gomez is Platinum

Selena Gomez the former Disney rising star of Wizards of Waverly Place has now passed a monumental hurdle.  The 18 year old singer and actress has just been certified platinum on her newest song Who Says?.

The song is from her third album When The Sun Goes Down and while the song was only released back in March 8, 2011 and Selena took to her Facebook page to announce the good news last night.  While the actress is heading back to the road of recovery after being being ill, exhaustion and being malnourished.  There are some speculating that there may be a disorder involved but there may be some truth to why the star became malnourished.  Industry insiders know that it can be very tough to get a decent bite while on the road touring.  Most stars only have small bite before a show, even if they have a nice spread available after the show there are usually several meet and greets, meeting with the band  and management so  it can be difficult to eat properly.

But even despite this little setback for Selena this song going platinum has proven she’s got a lot of selling power and she might be going multi-platinum.  The previews say that the album is amazing and may be better than her last two albums.  What do you think about Selena going platinum?
