Walt Disney Animation Studios has a long list of movies going back to the 1930s, The first theatrical animated features was “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Then there were “Pinocchio,” “Fantasia,” “Cinderella,” and Lady and the Tramp.” Through 2010 there were fifty Disney animated films. How many do you remember?

Walt Diney Animation Studios have said the movie,”Reboot Ralph” would be re-titled “Wreck-it-Ralph.” Ralph is a guy who lives in arcade games and wants to be a hero. The voices will be done by John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, and Jack McBrayer.

I think that it is a shame that Disney Animation Studios won’t be creating any more films about young women such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pocahontas,”and the “Little Mermaid” who were good role models. I will also miss the beauty and winsomeness of “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.” I worry that some of the new animated Disney films are leaving behind the beauty, goodness, and charm of the older films. In our hurried lives, are we forgetting to take time to enjoy life in general? Do children’s films have to reflect the adult world? Are the animated films substituting special effects over substance? However, the special effects can be amazing and if the storyline is strong with a believable setting and the movies will be excellent.
