Adele Sitting On Top of Billboard 200 Charts Lady Gaga Drops
It looks like Lady Gaga is facing some stiff competition in the music charts. Lady Gaga’s Born This Way which is just in its third week on the Billboard 200 and already it has been upset by Adele’s 21.
This returns Adele’s 21 to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 list and 21 is is the first to rank #1 this late in the chart run since Taylor Swift’s Fearless which was #1 in its 16th week in March 2009. Two weeks ago Lady Gaga posted the biggest one week sales tally since 2005. But now the album is being charged at regular price sales of her album Born This Way have dropped off by 84% and it is the biggest sales drop off of any of the 17 albums to sell 1 million copies in a week. Adele, meanwhile has had consistent sales since her album was released and just when sales were starting to soften Rolling In The Deep became a monster hit and helped keep the pace. This song is expected to top the Hot 100 for the sixth straight week.
This is 10th week that Adele’s album is at #1 which is the longest run since Fearless and is the longest run at #1 for an album by a British artist since George Michael’s Faith. Has Lady Gaga lost her groove? What do you think of Adele being back at #1?

I have NO worries that Lady GaGa is ‘losing her grove’ as you put it! Gaga is bigger than Adele could possibly be. Adele writes about breaking up with guys… that’s it. There’s nothing special about her, and she’s kinda hyped if you get what I mean… LADY GAGA IS AMAZING, AND IT DOESN’T MATTER, BECAUSE HER ALBUM HAS DONE AMAZINGLY WELL ANYWAY.
I think the 21 album sounds great but for it to be up there for more than a month… Ya it’s getting silly… I love gaga and the album she did was amazing……Adele has a great voice and talent… Buy gaga has that and has visual artistry she’s a walking piece of art…
Adele’s album is a great one – no doubt about it but Born This Way could easily come roaring back if any one of the 4-5 remaining singles catch fire. Asking whether Lady Gaga has lost her groove right now would be like asking the same thing about Micheal Jordan after a missed free throw, let’s wait 6 months before judging the commercial success of the album. Adele or nobody for that matter is going to out gross gaga on tour.
Although I love both artist, Adele has the beauty, the voice, and does not focus on outrageous stunts to boost up her fame. lady Gaga has become so obsessive of her image she has forgotten how to write and is no longer worthy of press. Adele, 21, has such beauty, has been well written, marketed and people can relate to the material. Lady Gagas new album has too much reference to religion, is not well written and is nothing to her last work. She has fallen.
“She has fallen.” Only time will tell, but even then, can’t wait until you’re proven wrong. Adele will be 1-or-2 hit song then gone.
Um actually adele is from anouther country so for her to be at the number one spot is a feat on its own. Lady gaga requires months and months of hype and huge marketing campains to get those sales while adele does not. It doesnt matter if she gets anothet hit single in the US shes from the UK so all she has to worry about is selling in her native land wheres she will definitly get more hit singles
The only reason why Adele’s CD has maintained number 1 so long is that the CD sales remained consistent around 100K. People are buying it gradually. Lady Gaga had big sales first week, 1million+ so most of the people wanting the CD bought it as soon as it came out. SO they already have it, and thats why sales drop.
actually, the 1 million sales was only because she sold it for 99cents. people i know bought it because its practically free. theyre not real fans of gaga’s music. whatever that is practically free is worth buying

Even though Im not into adele type of music, there is no comparison adele is true talent, true music, true artist. of course people are getting sick of that ******* thing. she did some good songs but thats it, its always the same **** but ***s love her so no doubt she will sell, its just i didnt know there so much *****s in this wolrd.

Adele is amazing I am from England to so I have had the pleasure of hearing her music before she was really anything. She is incredibly talented

The problem with born this way is its so unlike anything else atm. Its kinda cross between several different styles with an 80′s vibe. Most people on first listen are like wtf is this but you learn to love the album as you get used to it.
And yes everyone who really wanted the album bought it straight away. I dunno if it will pick up i hope so because its great.
If we are doing Adele vs Gaga then yes Adele has a more interesting/Beautiful voice that can bring grown men to tears. But Gaga has an amazing voice to people forget that
