Twilight Characters Have Inspired 2010 Baby Names

It looks like the Twilight franchise is influencing pop culture and has already influenced 2010 list of the most popular baby names.

The Social Security Administration announced on the Today show today that Isabella was the top name for girls last year, while Jacob was the most popular name among boys.  Isabella, Bella for short is the lead character in the Twilight book series which is portrayed by Kristen Stewart in the movie series.  While Edward, Bella’s vampire boyfriend from the series and portrayed by Robert Pattinson on screen was not in the list, Bella’s best friend werewolf Jacob played by Taylor Lautner on screen made the list.

Another interesting fact coming out of the study is that some of the most trendiest names that jumped up in popularity is mother/son duo from MTV’s reality series Teen Mom Maci was the top trending name for girls while her son Bentley was the top trending name for boys.  Others that joined the list were Kellan aptly named from actor Kellan Lutz of Twilight is the No. 2 trending name while Knox the name of one of Angelina’s twins in No. 3.  Classics like Ava, Emily, Michael and William are included in the Top 10  and the first time Joshua has moved off the list since 1978.  What do you think of all these trendy names?
