Nintendo Sees 3DS & Wii Sales Still Dropping In US

May - 16 2011 | Sarah Peel | 3 comments

Nintendo has ran out of luck it seems, or at least in the US. Nintendo is still seeing a decline in sales of the new 3DS and the older Wii. This news comes on the heels of Nintendo planning to release a massive update for the 3DS.

Again, as I have stated in other posts that I am not surprised. Sure, some people buy into the 3D and all-but what it is old news. The 3DS is hardly different from the DSi or DS Lite. Also the Wii is not considered an old console, so it makes perfect sense for Nintendo to see a decline in sales.

I know many of you will be defending your beloved Nintendo and 3DS. However, the facts are pretty clear. I do believe in other parts of the world the 3DS is selling well, so keep that in mind about these reports. They are not talking about world wide sales here, so no need to panic.

It’s gonna take more than featureless arcade games like Pilotwings or expensive $40 Virtual Console games (Zelda,Star Fox) to sell the expensive $250 3DS, Where is Kid Icarus with it’s awesome graphics and cinematic sound.

You are a huge — because 3DS has good games such as Street Fighter 4, Ghost recon, ridge racer, lots of beautiful 3d, just short battery life for a highly powered product with plenty of great games to come, —!
