Kelly Clarkson Returns to American Idol

Former American Idol Kelly Clarkson is taking one more trip down memory lane, as TVGuide brings word that she’ll be singing in front of the judges one more time.
Clarkson, who made a visit to Idol last season to give a farewell performance for Simon Cowell, is working on getting all the coverage she can as the release date for her fifth album draws closer, which songwriter Claude Kelly talked about in an interview with MTV.
While she might not be the biggest name that Idol launched, Clarkson will always have the honor of being the first, and longtime fans of the reality competition will probably enjoy seeing her return to where it all began to perform a duet of ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ with Jason Aldean.
Clarkson won’t be the only familiar face returning to the American Idol stage because R&B singer Rihanna will also be returning for another performance, just a little over a year after her first appearance on the show.
Check out Kelly Clarkson’s performance on this Thursday’s American Idol, and don’t forget about last week’s re-cap, just in case you missed the stunning elimination.

Wow! I found the comment about KC not being the biggest name AI has launched kind of funny, if not, ignorant of the facts. Since she has sold more albums worldwide and in the last few months, it was reported she has brought in more money (from album sales and singles) than any other AI singer. I would love to know what facts (if any) supported your statement. For instance, if you included sales from features in magazines and commercials then I could see Carrie Underwood pushing ahead, but strictly music, Clarkson should be first.

I stand corrected. I was thinking album sales, which Carrie has more of, but Kelly kicked her butt with the sale of singles… which does put her at the top for AI singers.

WTF…. may not be the biggest name A.I has produced……
She’s the biggest and best thing to come out of Idol.
Carrie has sold 36 Million records worldwide, and Kelly has sold almost 60 Million records WTF… who ever made this article is obviously a country fan
