Kristen Stewart Becomes Fairest One of All as Snow White
The rumors have been flying all over the web since Snow White and the Huntsman was first mentioned, and the studio has been countering for almost the same amount of time that they were looking for a fresh face for the fairy tale character, but Cambio brings word that my greatest nightmare has come true – Kristen Stewart has been chosen for the role of Snow White, despite being up against some impressive names for the role.
The information was revealed when producer Palak Patel announced on Twitter, “KStew is officially playing Snow White and her deal is in final negotiations and will close next week.” He later followed up with, “Official confirmation coming next week but we are in final negotiations.” For some reason, both tweets have been removed from his Twitter page, possibly because of the ‘official confirmation coming next week.’ After all, it doesn’t get much more official than the producer displaying the info for all the world to see so maybe he jumped the gun just a little bit.
Stewart will be joining Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, and possibly Viggo Mortensen, who is in talks for the role of the Huntsman. He also happens to be on the list of names being considered as General Zod in the new Superman movie so he might have to choose between the two. Personally, since Stewart is attached to this film now, I’d prefer to see him go against Supes.
Snow White and the Huntsman is scheduled for release on December 21, 2012.

It’s going to be an important role for Kristen with a good cast. I am sure she will do a good job at portraying a darker version.
I think Kristen Stewart is a much better choice for the role then some of the innocent choices they were looking at. This is not supposed to be you Disney version of the tale…its supposed to be dark, a bit like the new Alice in Wonderland. After all, Snow White is more of a “tomboy” in the new one according to reports online. Kristen is a wonderful actress and I’m sure she will fill this role well. People don’t give enough credit to young actresses sometimes.
Why your biggest nightmare? Have you not read all the praise from well-known and respected actors and directors about Kristen’s talent? Stop being so predictable.
I see her play the exact same character in every movie, only the name and wardrobe changes. Breaking Dawn provides her with an opportunity to change my opinion.
If I see a true transformation take place when she becomes vampire Bella then I’ll be impressed and change my tune. If colored contacts are the only difference I notice then I’ll stick with the current opinion that she’ll fade away as soon as Twilight fever dies down.
Bella as a vampire is almost feral. Meek, mousy, and glum won’t cut it.
I agree, this is almost certainly a mistake. Anyone can see that. And for those with no clue to say that “with a good cast, she will do a good job” shows that some know nothing about acting. She is the same in every movie. She is not right for this role and people only praise her for the publicity they will get. She is in demand now not because of her acting but for her fame. People will go see a movie because she is in it, not because she can act. This sadly is what Hollywood is really all about now. Money!
