Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One comes out on both DVD and Blu-Ray on April 15th, but if you’re still hanging with the DVD crowd then you might want to consider an upgrade because BSCreview brings word that the Blu-Ray combo pack is going to be loaded with goodies that DVD viewers can only dream about.

The DVD will come with deleted scenes and… well, that’s about it. On the other hand, the Blu-Ray combo pack includes Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital copies, and just check out all the cool extras that are packed into this package of awesomeness.

An exclusive sneak peek of an opening scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, which hits theaters July 15.

• “Maximum Movie Mode”: An interactive journey through the movie hosted by Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), and including other cast and crew, which also revisits important moments from the previous films to prepare us for the final battle.

• ”Dan, Rupert and Emma’s Running Competition”: Director David Yates provides commentary for the “hilarious rivalry” that the three leads engaged in while filming the escape scene from the Snatchers in Swinley Forest.

• “On the Green with Rupert, Tom, Oliver and James”: Cameras follow Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) and James Phelps (Fred Weasley) for a round of golf to profile the friendship they developed over a decade of filming Harry Potter movies.

• “The Seven Harrys”: A look at Daniel Radcliffe’s method for recreating the personalities of the different characters for the Privet Drive scene, as well as the visual effects.

• A plug for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter that includes footage of Radcliffe, Grint, Watson, and other cast members enjoying their first visits for the grand opening.

• A “Behind the Soundtrack” extra

There was a time when DVD was king of the hill but that time is long gone. If you want maximum viewing pleasure these days, then Blu-Ray is the way to go because the studios and production companies are saving all the best stuff for the Blu-Ray lovers.

The release date is just a little over a month away. Will you be going with the DVD or Blu-Ray? Go ahead and tease yourself a little bit with a peek inside the Blu-Ray package. Visit EW.com to check out the preview clip, and don’t forget to take a look at Daniel Radcliffe in a new non-wizarding role.
