Justin Bieber (sort of) Makes the Cover of MAD

Hey! Check it out. TVGuide recently found out the Biebster is on the cover of MAD magazine. Oh… wait. That’s not Justin. It’s just Alfred E. Neuman cutting down another celebrity. The little cartoon dude has been doing it for almost sixty years so why stop now?

In addition to the Bieber impersonator, the cover also brings attention to ‘his stupid hair,’ ‘his dumb book,’ ‘his terrible movie’ and ‘his awful music.’ What? No mention of his awful taste in women if the rumors about Selena Gomez are true? Maybe those jabs are inside the magazine.

With his face being on the February cover of Vanity Fair and Never Say Never hitting theaters this week (and it’s going to make a ton of money whether it’s terrible or not), I’m pretty sure Justin isn’t too worried about being on MAD, which is actually a good thing. MAD always takes on the trends and celebs who have the most star power at any given time. Having Neuman impersonate you is like being included in a South Park cartoon. If you’re not big, they don’t pick on you.

John Ficarra, Editor-in-Chief of MAD, isn’t willing to guess at how the Bieber cover will do, telling the Associated Press, “[The cover of Vanity Fair] was probably the highlight of his career and being on the cover of MAD is the lowlight. He’ll hate it and buy every copy, and it will be a sellout. Or, conversely, Bieber won’t even notice and we’ll probably sell three copies of the issue.”

What do you think about MAD Bieber? Will you buy a copy?
