Top Posts of 2010 – BSCkids

By on January 5, 2011

The year end wrap up for BSCkids and I could just list off the top traffic posts of the year, but that would be mostly news.  So what I wanted to do is highlight what I thought were some of the top posts from BSCkids as seen through my eyes.  They will include some interviews, some reviews, and maybe even an article.  So in no particular order here is what I came up with.

We went to some great conventions this year, but I have to say that the Toy Fair is by far the best convention I have been to.  You can read what I thought, and it also produced some great pieces on Loopz and R/C Stealth Rides.  It was also nice to meet the inventor of Perplexus.  Let us not forget one of the coolest R/C Toys I have ever seen, the Rokenbok toy line.  Coming in second in the convention department was the Summer Fancy Food ShowBookExpo and NYIGF rounded out the year.

When it comes to interviews we did some great ones this year, but my favorites happen to all be singers.  Demi Lovato, Care Bears on Fire, Jennette McCurdy and MacKayla Hunter.

Favorite Articles I have a few in mind, starting with Potentially Dangerous But Undeniably Fun Toys, my two Christmas Lists for my boys and the new baby, which I do each year.  The Fashion of Maclarenwritten by my wife’s sister and MacKayla Hunter does a great job with her favorite Christmas Song piece.  MacKayla is so talented with both her singing and writing, and I am really glad to have met her and her family.

This year also was the Summer of Reviews which produced some great products.  Some random reviews that I loved writing because I loved the products and think they should get another go round on being highlighted.  Need a stroller that does all of the terrains?  Sand on the beach, mud while taking your boy to football games, jogging and any trail that you could look at.  It does all that with style and it is a great looking stroller as well.  It even did a a tour at the NY Renaissance Festival.  Click over to our review of the Mountain Buggy – Urban Jungle.  Speaking of strollers, we loved the Maclaren Triumph while we hit the amusement parks as it was nice and compact, and light to carry on your shoulder.

On the game front, both video and board we have some great items on the site, but these are my highlights of the year.  I love Gamewright and they had Bingo Link and Feed the Kitty, both games which we continue to play to this day.  On the video game front, Marvel Super Hero Squad:  The Infinity Gauntletwas a favorite, but now with the PS Move and Kinect the tide may turn in 2011.

When it comes to books, I want to make sure you check out Stink The Incredible Shrinking Kid by Megan McDonald, one of my boys favorites and I loved reading it as well.

So that is it.  I will give you a little hint for 2011.  We have some great original content coming your way this year, if you look close you can already see us starting to get to work on it.   We will also be attending as many conventions as possible!
