Monsters, Inc. 2: Mike and Sulley go to College
Fans of Monsters, Inc. have been waiting for a sequel for a while, and the word from Chip and Co. is that Disney and Pixar might be finally getting ready to bring that wait to an end.
Since the bad guys were beaten and Monsters, Inc. changed their business strategy at the end of the original, a sequel would be pretty tricky to pull off. Rumors suggest that the problem will be avoided by doing a prequel rather than a sequel.
In Monsters, Inc. 2, Mike and Sulley would meet while attending Scare College, and would start off as rivals instead of friends. Of course, we all know that the two will become the best of pals by the end of the film, but the journey to friendship could still be interesting and full of laughs.
There’s no official word from Disney yet so this could all be just a rumor or an idea that eventually gets scrapped. What do you think about a Monsters, Inc. prequel? I think it could be good but don’t know if it they can get the same laughs without the character of ‘Boo’ who provided most of the entertainment as far as monsters freaking out over a human kid. Disney and Pixar will have to work hard to find a gimmick that packs a similar punch to the funny bone.
