Kindle On Top On Amazon.com over dead tree Harry Potter

As the holiday season winds down we take stock of all our gifts and what to give for the next year.  If the Kindle was on the list you were not the only person that wanted this item for Christmas.  Kindle was named by everyone as the nifty e-book reader and the fifth thing everyone wanted this year.  Amazon.com  just recently announced that their third generation Kindle beat J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book as the best selling product in Amazon history.  While J.K. Rowling has yet to sign over the rights to the Harry Potter series for the Kindle, you can still get the books in paperback or hardcover.

November 29th 2010 was Amazon’s peak holiday shopping day with customers buying the Kindle and other items online for a record-breaking 158 items sold per second.  The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was the most purchased and most gifted Kindle book on Christmas Day.  Customers also bought enough copies of ‘Eclipse‘ for Edward Cullen to watch the movies 1,000 times a day for 109 years of his life!

So did you get what you wanted for Christmas?  Did you get the or want ‘Eclipse’ on DVD?  Did you get or ask for a Kindle?  Or did you get the Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows book?
