Brenda Song and the rest of The Social Network cast will be given the Ensemble Performance Award by director David Fincher during the Palm Spring International Film Festival in January 2011, according to the Brenda Song Examiner.

Harold Matzner, the chairman of the festival, says, “Every so often, a movie comes along with performances that set the standard for a generation of actors. The Social Network combines a theme that defines our time with performances that redefine acting for the screen. The Social Network is important not because it is about this current moment in history, but because the human motivations of the characters make it a parable for this or any age.”

The gang from the Facebook movie is joining an impressive list of other nominees that include Robert Duvall (Get Low), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go), David O. Russell (The Fighter), Javier Bardem (Biutiful), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan).

The festival will be from January 6th to January 17th, with the Awards Gala, hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart, being held on January 8th at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
