No Plans For Toy Story 4 According To Producer Darla K. Anderson

Toy StoryThere are going to be a lot of disappointed Toy Story fans out there. Toy Story 3 producer Darla K. Anderson revealed that a fourth installment of Toy Story was not in the works. “No we’re really not,” she told MovieWeb. “We have no plans for it at this point. We worked really hard at bringing Toy Story 3 to a conclusion.”

Since its release back in June Toy Story 3 has become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, grossing over a billion dollars worldwide. With those type of numbers, it’s not surprising that people obviously thought there’d be a Toy Story 4.

It’s actually kind of refreshing to see the makers behind a huge money-making franchise like Toy Story decide to quit while they’re ahead instead of trying to milk every possible dollar out of it. More franchises should end on a high note like this one. If they made a another Toy Story film, it would no doubt bring in big dollars but possibly at the expense of the quality and integrity of the franchise. Hopefully, I won’t have to eat my words later if they decide on doing a Toy Story 4 after all.

However, Anderson revealed there is still something that TS fans can look forward to. She said that there were plans to move forward with Toy Story shorts. “We do have the short films that we are working on, because we love the characters so much and want to keep them alive,” she explained. “One of the short films will be in front of Cars 2 next summer.”
