First Look At Characters Smurfette and Brainy Smurf From Smurfs Upcoming 3D Movie

SmurfsAccording to The HDRoom, a new Toys for Tots auction launched by FAO Schwarz is offering up 4 VIP tickets to The Smurfs premiere next summer. It also provides a new promotional image that reveals a couple more core Smurf characters. You can see the promo image at the link here.

In the promo image, you see the Smurf characters in their 3D animated form for the first time. The characters in the image are Smurfette (Katy Perry) and Brainy Smurf (Fred Armisen). Also pictured are previously revealed Papa Smurf (Jonathan Winters) and Grouchy Smurf (George Lopez).

Back in the day, I would have never imagined seeing The Smurfs on the big screen and in 3D no less. But here it is. That’s progress for you–for better or worse.

The Smurfs is set to hit theaters in August 2011 in 3D and 2D. It is directed by Raja Gosnell (Home Alone 3 and Never Been Kissed). Check out The Smurfs teaser trailer below.
