Country Rules Billboard Charts With Taylor Swift At The Top Spot
Taylor Swift’s third album, Speak Now, spent its second week atop the U.S. charts. After pulling in more than a million sales in its first week, the album is still selling well with 320,000 second-week sales.
Another country act, Jason Aldean, debuts at number two with My Kinda Party, while Sugarland make it a Nashville top three with The Incredible Machine in third place.
Mariah Carey’s holiday album Merry Christmas II You enters the chart at four and Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being rounds out the new top five.
It looks like Taylor is continuing her big winning streak. She had the best-selling album of 2009 with her award-winning, multi-platinum album Fearless. The 20-year-old singer has combined album sales of over 10 million. And it looks like next year is going to be a strong year for her as well, as Speak Now will no doubt continue to sell strong well into 2011.
