Disney’s New Show-Fish Hooks

This past Friday(Sept 24th) Disney premiered an unlikely new show for tweens and teens called Fish Hooks. The show is a cartoon, but about teenager fish who deal with high school issues. Chelsea Staub and Kyle Massey are the two starring voice actors. Here is what Chelsea had to say about the new show.

I play Bea. She’s an emotionally unstable goldfish, and she’s best friends with Milo and Oscar. They’re kind of this perfect little tripod. It’s a really fun show and I love being a part of it…We kind of take what are normal, high anxiety situations for kids in school—you know, dances, tests, video games, all these things that we’ve all dealt with—and we’re putting them in this surreal world to show that it’s okay and it’s not that big a deal

I have to say that the whole fish idea reminds me of the Spongebob Squarepants series, only for older kids. I do wonder how many tweens and teens will feel about Fish Hooks being promoted to their age group. I will say that it sounds really cute.
