Jake T. Austin in “Rio”

Aug - 14 2010 | Lisa Stauber | no comments

Yesterday I reported on Jake T. Austin’s interview at the Teen Choice Awards, where he talked about his future including a feature film  Today we have more details!  Jake’s voicing the character of Fernando in Rio, an animated movie about a bird who decides to fly from Minnesota to Rio de Janeiro to fulfill his destiny.  It sounds like an animated version of Paulie.

Jake joins an all star cast, including Anne Hathaway, George Lopez, and Leslie Mann.  The movie is coming from the same people who did the Ice Age movies, so while it won’t be an instant classic like a Pixar movie, it shouldn’t be too bad, either.  It’s written by the guy who came up with the scripts to Big Momma’s House, so it should have it’s share of laughs. Rio will hit theaters in 2011.
