Mean Girls 2 Now Official
Last month we brought you the rumor that Meaghan Jette Martin had landed the lead role in the sequel Mean Girls 2. Now it’s official! Director Melanie Mayron will start filming later this month in Atlanta. It’s a good thing Meaghan agreed to take the lead role of Abby, since Lindsay Lohan will be in jail and won’t be showing up as Cady!
The original Mean Girls was written by award winning funny girl Tina Fey and starred Lohan and Rachel McAdams. The latest chapter in the Mean Girls is written by the team who brought us all those Barbie DVD movies. Director Mayron is also an actress and has quite a list of director credits for TV movies and episodes. Mean Girls 2 should hit the video shelves in 2011, and sadly it’s shaping up to be straight-to-DVD quality.
