Selena Gomez On The Monte Carlo Set

Jun - 25 2010 | Sarah Peel | no comments |

Selena Gomez is busy with filming her upcoming movie that is entitled Monte Carlo. The movie will likely come out in 2011 and will also feature other celebrities as well that are popular among tweens and teens. You can see the videos of her on the set at the bottom of this post.

I find it entertaining, but nothing really outstanding by any means. But perhaps that is because Selena Gomez was pretty busy during the filming of these clips. I think they should of gave a full tour of the set and have one on one interviews to make it more fun to watch. What do you all think?

Don’t forget to watch the newer and older Round And Round music video by Selena Gomez for a great new song. However, be warned! The song is very catchy and will get stuck in your head for rest of the day and night. Now here are the two videos.

Selena Gomez Sugar Covergirl

Jun - 25 2010 | Lisa Stauber | no comments |

Selena Gomez graces the cover of Sugar magazine this month.  She sports a strapless, summery look with yellow top, quite a different look from the her movie character.  Selena stars as Beatrice Quimby in the film adaptation of the classic middle grade book Ramona and Beezus.  She’s also recently released some music and her next film, Monte Carlo, is set for release next February.

The headline screams “Boys haven’t always been nice to me!”  I bet she’ll be dishing some dirt there – and maybe some advice on how to get over old boyfriends.  She’s got a couple of famous exes, including a Jonas brother.  Will you be reading about Selena in Sugar magazine?

Doc McStuffins New Show on Disney Junior

Jun - 25 2010 | Lisa Stauber | no comments |

Disney is starting a new channel called Disney Junior, and they’lll be airing some original, new series.  Doc McStuffins is a totally new animated kid show about a girl who’s a doctor.  Well, kind of.   She’s a 6 year-old stuffed-animal whisperer who can heal her sick and injured stuffed animals and toys.  Doc is a cute little girl with a sparkly headband and purple shoes. The show will emphasize living a healthy lifestyle and compassion for others.

Nancy Kanter senior VP of Playhouse Disney Worldwide, describes the show:

Disney Channel’s ‘Doc McStuffins,’ a new animated series for preschoolers, is about six-year-old Dottie “Doc” McStuffins who communicates with and heals stuffed animals and toys out of her backyard clinic. The imaginative series, with an emphasis on healthy living, will highlight the importance of taking care of oneself and others. ‘Doc McStuffins’ is slated for a 2011 premiere on the soon to be branded Disney Junior blocks on Disney Channel, and Disney Junior channels around the world.

Will you be tuning in with your little ones?  What’s your favorite Playhouse Disney series?

Jessica Jarrell Is “Excited” To Open For Justin Bieber

Jun - 25 2010 | Sarah Peel | no comments |

15-year-old Jessica Jarrell has an exciting chance to open for one of today’s biggest acts, Justin Bieber and she could not be anymore excited. She took to her Twitter account earlier this week to talk about just how excited she is for this tour and her chance to sing for thousands of fans. She also said this

“I was a little nervous earlier. I was like, ‘Oh my God! There’s going to be so many people,’ but you know I’m really excited

I think anyone would get excited and I am happy that he is allowing a lesser-known artist to open for him. Jessica Jarrell will quickly become a household name due to her tour with him and she cannot get a better chance to grow her own fan base. I cannot think of a better she could spend this summer than what she is doing now.

Speaking of Bieber and Jessica Jarrell, you can check out when they will be coming your way this summer to see both live. That is one tour that you do not want to miss out one, that is for sure! So double check and plan ahead before the tickets sell out. You can see the whole video below.

Jonas LA Music Video – Fall

Jun - 25 2010 | Sarah Peel | 2 comments |

The Jonas Brothers have been busy with their TV show, Jonas LA, move Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and with their music careers, yet they made time to create a music video for their show. The song is called Fall and you can watch the music video below.

I think it is a pretty neat video; however, I think they need to grow in their music. I feel like that they are still stuck in the same spot they were years ago. They just haven’t seemed to expand in their music and that makes me sad for them. They may never get to break free from Disney if they do not attempt to grow and see where it takes them. They have many fans and those fans are growing up just as much as the Jonas Brothers are, so the music needs to grow up with them as well.

Don’t forget to see the preview clips from this season and another set of clips for more for those major Jonas Brother fans. Now for the music video for the new song!

Can John Lasseter Save Cars 2?

Jun - 25 2010 | Lisa Stauber | no comments |

John Lasseter is a Pixar giant who has directed Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Cars, and A Bug’s Life.  He wasn’t supposed to be a part of the sequel to Cars, Cars 2 but rumor has it the movie’s in trouble and John’s been brought in to fix it.  The movie had already been pushed back to a December, 2011 release.

Now it seems that Cars 2 will be done in time for summer, with a release date in June, 2011 and Lasseter will be given a credit as co-director.  I’m not worried.  One thing that makes Pixar movies stand out in excellence is the close attention they pay to detail and storyline.  There’s a reason the studio is always winning awards! I think bringing in the expert will improve the final product, and Pixar’s never disappointed me yet.  What do you think?  Is Cars 2 in trouble or will it be awesome?

Brenda Song To Launch Perfume & Clothing Lines

Jun - 25 2010 | Sarah Peel | no comments |

Suite Life On Deck may be wrapping up its run on TV, but do not expect Brenda Song to quit being busy for a long time. She recently announced along with Disney of her upcoming perfume and clothing lines that will launch soon. In fact, Brenda’s clothing line will launch this fall with Target stores and at this time, we do not know when the perfume will come out. But you can expect it to come out shortly, but here is what she said regarding her perfume line.

I love perfumes since I was little, and when I’m in a store it’s the first thing I gravitate to. The process of creating the perfect alluring scent is so much fun. Mixing lots of beautiful scents together is great, I’m planning on launching a perfume line! I love mixing different substances and creating new substances

I am happy that Brenda Song will sell her clothing line through Target and not Wal-Mart as many Disney starts have in the past. I think the line should be cute, which will many thousands of her fans happy. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with for the line. She always chooses cute clothes, so they should be cute as well the ones she helps to design.

You can read about Brenda Song’s TV show being in works of becoming a movie or see how she describes herself. Both are fun to read and watch, which is a must for any fan of hers.

Emily Windsnap and the Siren’s Secret by Liz Kessler – Review

Jun - 25 2010 | Kerry | 1 comment |

Emily Windsnap is no ordinary girl.  Sure, she has problems with her parents and often has to deal with a mean girl at school, but neither of those troubles makes her any different from other girls.  What makes Emily’s adventures exciting to follow is her ability to change into a mermaid when she gets into water, and afterwards, all kinds of crazy things happen, like fights with krakens and the discovery of a mysterious castle – along with the cute boy inside!

This title is the fourth in the Emily Windsnap series, and as the author explains on the book jacket, a surprise story to her because she thought she was finished writing about Emily when the third book was complete.  So many readers wanted more of Emily that she had to write another tale – and we are so glad she did!  In this adventure, Emily and her friend Shona, who is obsessed with becoming a siren, learn the hard way (and then some!) that being a siren isn’t what it is all cracked up to be, especially if you end up trapped by a curse for years and years, unable to sing, which is what sirens do best.  In the middle of siren trouble, there are problems at Brightport, Emily’s hometown, which threaten the existence of a mermaid city that the humans know nothing about, of course, because they don’t know that mermaids are real.  Emily and her friends, including Shona, her first and best mermaid friend, Aaron, who is fast becoming her boyfriend, and Mandy, the former cause of much distress at school, team up to tackle the siren situation as well as the rescue of the mermaid town.

The ending is definitely a happy one, while very stressful for Emily, and it is safe to say that this is probably the last book in the series.  This has been a fun ride for me and my ten year old daughter, since we adore mermaids and enjoy not only this storyline but also the cute sketches of sea life scattered throughout the books.

Miranda Cosgrove Chats Up Jimmy Fallon

Jun - 24 2010 | Lisa Stauber | 1 comment |

Miranda Cosgrove made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, talking about her new movie, Despicable Me,and also her CD.  She plans to go on tour with her music as soon as she’s done with the latest season of iCarly.  Movies, tours, TV shows, and music recording haven’t left much time in the teens life for the important things: getting her driver’s license.  Miranda admits that she signed up for driver’s ed, but didn’t even finish the class!

Right now she’s concentrating on prepping for her SAT.  Miranda is homeschooled, and she had to take her PSAT at an all boy’s school.  I bet she was a big distraction.  You probably missed Miranda’s segment with Jimmy since it’s on so late, so check it out here!
