Harry Potter – from Deathly Hallows to Western Front
Daniel Radcliffe stays in this news this week, as film’s Harry Potter eyes his possible next big screen project in a remake of All Quiet on the Western Front. The original is an academy award winning film for Best Picture and Best Director (1930) that takes place in World War I. Variety reports that Radcliffe would portray Paul Baumer (originally played by Lew Ayres), “a young German soldier fighting in the trenches of France”, with production beginning in 2012. One of the producers of the film, Ian Stokell, shares with us what Radcliffe brings to the project:
Daniel brings a vulnerability and innocence to Paul. When we realized how much he loved the script we were really excited because we know he can tap into the delicate balance between intensity and believability that is critical for this demanding role.”
I said stays in the news, as BSCkids readers know that Daniel has been busy this week, calling Justin Bieber a girl and professing his appreciation for FOX’s Glee. Of course, a little movie franchise called Harry Potter continues later this year with the first part of Deathly Hallows hitting theaters this November (check out the latest clip!)

Already starring in another movie? Wow, I’ve read all quiet on the western front and I don’t think Daniel Radcliffe comes to mind.
