Disney Channel gets Green-Themed Programming for Earth Day

Disney Channel will introduce some green-themed programming to coincide with Earth Day.  The programming will begin on April 17th and we have some promo pictures and synopsis of some of the shows below.  I think that this is a great way to get children introduced to the greening concepts that they will need to sustain mother Earth.  Being green can also be fun!  So get your children to watch Special Agent Oso in “Recycling is Forever,” Handy Manny in “The Earth Day Challenge / Dario Dance,” and the Imagination Movers in “Power Play.”

In “Recycling is Forever,” Oso helps Joshua recycle his family’s bottles, cans and paper.

“Recycling is Forever”Saturday, APRIL 17
(8:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

In “The Earth Day Challenge / Dario Dance,” with the help of Sheet Rock Hills mechanic, Gary (voiced by eco-crusader Dave “Sustainable Dave” Chameides), Manny and the tools replace Manny’s truck engine with a new environmentally-friendly electric motor, which they later submit as their entry for the “Sheet Rock Hills Earth Day Challenge.”

“The Earth Day Challenge/Dario Dance”Saturday, APRIL 17
(8:30 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

In “Power Play,” when the Movers realize they are using too much electricity and are almost out of power for the warehouse, they put several energy saving techniques to the test including solar panels, a water wheel and a windmill.

“Power Play”Saturday, APRIL 17
(10:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
