Diary of a Wimpy Kid taking over Cartoon Network!

Just got a message from the Cartoon Network letting us now that they have something special planned for the theatrical release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the movie based on the books by Jeff Kinney. You may remember that a few days ago BSCkids interviewed Alex Ferris, and if you enjoyed that (or the books!) you may want to tune to the Cartoon Network tomorrow!

Here is the message we got:

Tomorrow night (Thursday, March 11th), starting at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT), Diary will take over Cartoon Network in anticipation of the film’s release on Friday, March 19th. The take-over event is part of a major partnership between the the network and 20th Century Fox to drive awareness of and engagement with the film among kids.

Throughout the hour, viewers will be treated to a series of exclusive content, all hosted by the film’s very own “wimpy kid,” Zach Gordon (a.k.a. “Greg”), including:

• “Meet the Cast” spots on some of the film’s major characters — Rowley, Rodrick, Patty and Fregley.
• A behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the movie
• A 60-second, never-before-seen sneak peek at the film

They also pointed us to a fun minisite for fans!

Remember, the movie hits theaters on March 19th 2010!
