The Muppet Movie Headed to the U.S. National Film Registry

Only question that this brings up is, “it took this long?” All-time classic film for me and many others, as you can tell by a generation of 30-somethings that throw ugly looks at you if you don’t show proper respect to it or its creator Jim Henson!
Every year The US National Film Registry choose to permanently archive/honor select films and The Muppets Movie among this year’s picks that qualify (per there site):
These films are not selected as the “best” American films of all time, but rather as works of enduring importance to American culture.
Luckily, The Muppet Movie is both. If you don’t have this gem (which is mind-boggling) you NEED it! While I find this (below) edition to be lackluster, most of just can’t go back to the beauty of Betamax.
