Jeff Smith’s ‘Boneville’ Around the Corner At A Theater Near You?
Comics, Movies | Jay Tomio | January 2, 2010 at 10:49 pm
In a recent series of interview with Collider, Dan Lin, the producer of the Sherlock Holmes movie in theaters now, dropped some bits about the definitive all-ages comic book of our generation being adapted to film! Yes, we are talking about Jeff Smith’s Bone! He talked about several projects, but in the presence of Bone all other discussion is rendered irrelevant.
Lin reveals that a Justin Monjo is writing the script for the adaptation and added:
“it really looks like a mix of Shrek as far as the three Bone characters and their comedy, their Looney Tunes or Marx Brothers comedy set in a Lord of the Rings world. We’ve met with several directors and we hope to come to a director decision by January and Jeff Smith has been very intricately involved in the development process with us.”
It’s January now, I can’t wait!
He also added it’s being produced with Animalogic, the people who brought us Happy Feet and Guardians of Ga’Hoole. There isn’t anybody who shouldn’t have read Bone, and there isn’t anybody who can not enjoy Bone. If they made an Absolute Bone edition it would just be fio truth in title, not describing format. You need to go ahead and buy this:
You go scoop that and The Muppet Movie for you niece, nephew, son, and/or daughter and you become the favorite person in their life (okay so you may have to throw in a Nintendo–but BSCkids will have you covered in the next month with that to! Wha!) and you made the move through one day’s worth of posting at BSCkids! That’s what’s lovely about Bone. Boy or girl it doesn’t matter. Bone is not just all ages. It’s all people.
Be sure to read the rest of the interview over at Collider now!
