Marvin the Martian Coming to Theaters?

The LA Times is reporting that we might just get the Looney Tunes character on the big screen soon! Warner Bros has grabbed Alex Zamm to direct a film that would be much a mix of live action and CGI (they cite the Alvin & The Chipmunks films as an example). Zamm is not unfamiliar with adapting classic cartoon for the big screen as he’s also signed on to bring Hong Kong Phooey, the Hanna Barbera cartoon, to theaters as well.

Though it has been delayed, the movie will retain its original plot:

Marvin comes to Earth to try to destroy Christmas, but his plans are foiled when he gets trapped inside a gift box.

The Times also suggest that none other than Mike Myers (Shrek!)-but all that part seems speculation at this point. For myself, Marvin the Martian is perhaps my favorite of the Looney Tunes characters (remember the Nike/Jordan?Gatorade ads?). If you do, then you know Marvin is ready for live-action interaction !
