ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas – Day 4

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone is not really a Christmas movie in my mind and with all the actual Christmas movies out there seems like an interesting choice on Day 4 of ABC’s 25 Days of Christmas. My only thought is that they are trying to setup a yearly Harry thing going on.
Based on the popular first book of the series by J.K. Rowling, in the normal human world–the world of “Muggles”–Harry is a nobody, treated like dirt by the aunt and uncle who begrudgingly inherited him when his parents were killed by the evil Voldemort. A mysterious letter, delivered by the friendly giant Hagrid, wrenches Harry from his dreary, Muggle-ridden existence. It is an acceptance letter to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Soon enough, Harry finds himself at Hogwarts with his owl Hedwig and in the world of wizards, he is famous as a survivor of the wizard who tried to kill him.
So, if ABC Family is going to do something like only show the Harry Potter movies during Christmas time, that might actually work. You would then have children looking forward to the movies during the holiday season. For me though I do not really buy that so much. You have hundreds of Christmas and holiday shows that you (ABC Family) can pick from and this is the best that you come up with? How about some of the older cartoon holiday specials? Yes I know all about licensing, but even with that hindrance thrown in there I am sure ABC Family can get 50 shows that are directly about Christmas. A little disappointed in this night, I would rather see a cartoon.

I missed the fact that Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is on tonight at 7pm. This is the one where Frosty gets married, a classic. So do not be like me, make sure to turn in early!
