ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas – Day 3

Ah, back to a real holiday special tonight with The Polar Express. Can you believe that I have never actually seen this movie? Yeah, I can not either, so it looks like I need to catch it tonight. What I do have is a glowing recommendation from my father, who is not a big television person and is usually very tight with his praise of movies. He told me it is one of his favorite holiday movies.
‘Tis the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature is stirring . . . not even a little boy (Peter Scolari) who’s lost his belief in Santa Claus. Lying awake in bed, he listens for any proof that Santa may actually exist. Suddenly, he hears a far-off rumble. His room begins to shake. But it’s not reindeer hooves he hears: It sounds more like … a train? The rumbling grows louder and louder, until it stops right outside his window. The magic Polar Express has arrived. A friendly conductor (Tom Hanks) welcomes the boy aboard, and he meets other kids who’ve lost their faith in Santa. Together they take a fantastic ride and meet mysterious characters. Along the way, magical scenes play out across the snow-covered landscape – and right inside the train.
Also this was a very high tech movie when it first came out and I believe it holds up very well today and going forward. Another December day and another 25 Days of Christmas.
