ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas – Day 18

Dec - 18 2009 | Damon Cap | no comments

CarsToonPixar_jpgPixar weekend begins today.  While not Christmas per say, it is a tradition that ABC Family will hopefully continue each year for the kids.  Tonight they have the Pixar Short Films and then one of my all time favorite Pixar movies, Cars.  I watch that movie a few times a year with the kids.  It has even spawned some darn good video games that everyone in the family enjoys.

(7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) CARS

From the acclaimed creators of “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” and “Finding Nemo” comes a high-octane adventure comedy that shows life is about the journey, not the finish line. Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the old Route 66, he meets a snazzy Porsche named Sally (Bonnie Hunt), the wise-cracking tow truck Mater (Larry The Cable Guy), Doc Hudson (Paul Newman), and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame. (10:00 PM-12:00 AM ET/PT) PIXAR SHORT FILMS – (*See Wednesday, December 2, for description.)

So from ABC Family we get the Harry Potter and Pixar weekends, not a bad call by the execs on what someone would like to see each and every year during the holiday season.  Only other things I could have thought about would be Star Wars and maybe Indiana Jones, but I am not upset the way they went either.
