ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas – Day 17
A double dose of Jack Frost with the one hour-animated special followed by the Live Action with Michael Keaton version. You know what? I liked them both. I have never seen The Story of the First Christmas Snow and after reading the blurb, it is something that is right up my alley. Looking forward to it tonight. It is followed by the cry fest we have come to know as Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey. Also Jingle All the Way makes its way to ABC Family tonight, and who does not like to see Arnold in a Christmas show.
(6:00-6:30 PM ET/PT) THE STORY OF THE FIRST CHRISTMAS SNOW
When a young shepherd named Lucas is struck by lightning and left blind, a group of nuns take him in to their abbey. Here he begins his journey back to health, drawing strength from the love of the nuns and other children. After being chosen to perform the role of the angel in the Christmas play, snow begins to fall and a small miracle is performed. Angela Lansbury narrates this Christmas classic. (Animated)
(6:30-7:00 PM ET/PT) NESTOR, THE LONG-EARED CHRISTMAS DONKEY – (*See Saturday, December 12, for description.)
(7:00-8:00 PM ET/PT) JACK FROST – (*See Monday, December 7, for description of one-hour animated special.)
(8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) JACK FROST
The irresponsible and unreliable father of a young boy is killed in a car crash, but the father gets another chance to make things right with his son when he is reincarnated as a magical snowman. The Christmas fantasy-adventure stars Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Henry Rollins, and pop-personalities Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa. (Live Action)
(10:00 PM-12:00 AM ET/PT) JINGLE ALL THE WAY
To make up for missing his son’s karate match, Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger) promises his son Jamie (Jake Lloyd) anything he wants for Christmas. Unfortunately, like most kids his age, Jamie wants the extremely popular “Turbo Man” action figure and now, on Christmas Eve, Howard realizes he forgot to buy it. Refusing to break his word, Howard goes on a frantic last minute quest to track down the toy action figure, and stops at nothing to get his son the gift that he wants. (Live Action)
I like it when I can come across a new special (The Story of the First Christmas Snow) that I have not seen before. I just hope the reason I have not seen it is because of timing rather than quality.
