ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas – Day 14
Tonight is a Winnie the Pooh night with two ABC Family Premieres. First we get Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day and then it is immediately with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too. Hmm seems we are running out of holiday specials, because neither one is really holiday related. I like Winnie the Pooh, but I think we should have something holiday related during the 25 days of Christmas. Or if not that, something that is a yearly tradition like the Harry Potter movies. Following the two Pooh shows, we get a showing of Mary Poppins, which has never been a favorite of mine. I know I am probably offending a bunch of people by saying that, but it did not have any appeal to me after watching it a few times.
(7:00-7:30 PM ET/PT) WINNIE THE POOH AND THE BLUSTERY DAY – ABC Family Premiere
Winnie the Pooh follows Christopher Robin and his animal friends as a storm topples Owl’s tree house and brings a drenching rain. While the flood waters rise, Pooh has nightmares about honey-stealing creatures called Heffalumps and Woozles. (Animated)
(7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT) WINNIE THE POOH AND TIGGER TOO – ABC Family Premiere
To break Tigger’s habit of “bouncing in” on them, his friends plot to get him lost in the woods and literally “take the bounce out of him”. However, it’s his friends who become lost and Tigger “finds” them. After Tigger and Roo become stuck high in a tree, Tigger promises Pooh and Christopher Robin that he’ll never bounce again if only Christopher Robin can help get them down-which he does. But Tigger’s friends cannot hold Tigger to his vow after seeing how sad he has become without his “bounce”. Soon they are all bouncing for joy together. (Animated)
(8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) MARY POPPINS
In one of the greatest family classics of all time, two rambunctious children of a practical banker who believes a home should be run as tightly as the bank where he works, come under the care of a magical nanny – Mary Poppins. Stars Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. (Live Action)
I am wondering if I can get a hold of the scheduling people at ABC Family and help them figure out something for next year that gives us a holiday special each and every night, excluding Harry Potter and Pixar weekends. Can we buy a few more specials to fill in the gaps? They probably know better than I do with what really works, but I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot. Isn’t the Star Wars Holiday Special still up for grabs?
